Hibernian FC Women announced the arrival of 25‑year‑old striker Libby Smith on 24 August 2026. Smith will wear the number 9 jersey for the Edinburgh club. The move follows her departure from Nottingham Forest at the end of the 2025 season.
Career Highlights
Smith began her football journey in the Chelsea youth academy before signing her first professional contract with Leicester City in 2020. She was part of the Leicester squad that won the 2020/21 FA Women’s Championship, securing the club’s first promotion to the Women’s Super League (WSL).
After Leicester, Smith joined Birmingham City where she spent four years, gaining valuable WSL experience. Her time in the West Midlands ended in 2025, after which she played for USL Super League side Sporting JAX and WSL2 club Nottingham Forest.
